The MGR-AI701EK is a convenient way to evaluate the functionality of the AI module series.

The MGR-AI701EK has 2 AI701 modules that can be connected directly to a PC via the onboard RS232 to TTL converter. The MGR-BPT232 allows for 4 AI701/AI1001 modules to be connected directly to the board.

When connected to the PC you can either use the AI Motor Tool software (see below) to move the AI modules or write your own application using a programming environment such as Microsoft's Visual Studio, Borland's C++ Builder, etc.

NB.
The camera shown in the top image on this page is not included in this evaluation kit. This image is shown to demonstrate possible uses for the Evaluation Kit.

MGR-AIEK includes:

  1. 2 AI701 modules,
  2. 1 MGR-BPT232 RS232 to TTL converter board, and
  3. 1 RS232 lead.
NB.
A power supply is not supplied as part of this kit. If you require a power supply please order the MGR-PS in the Accessories section.

MGR-AI701EK mpegs:

These mpegs give you an idea what can be done with the MGR-AIEK when connected to a PC:
1. Recording a movement sequence (mpeg 5.3Mb),
2. Using a joystick to control the modules/camera (mpeg 5.3Mb), and
3. Using the modules, camera and image processing techniques to track a ball (mpeg 5.3Mb).
NB. The MGR-AI701EK requires mechanical assembly
(MGR-BPT232 is fully assembled and tested).
