The plug-in modules currently available for KAI Robot Control Module (KRC) are shown below.
Digital Input modules
Module Type: Limit Switch
Function: detecting contact with obstacles.
Module Type: Microphone
Function: detecting noises, i.e. a "clap".
Analog Input modules
Module Type: IR Distance
Function: detecting and measuring the distance of an obstacle.
Module Type: Light Sensor
Function: detecting the intensity of a light source.
Digital Output modules
Module Type: LED
Function: indicating that "something" has occurred (useful for debugging code).
Actuators
Module Type: Servo
Function: positioning mechanical pieces between 0° and 90°.
Module Type: DC Motor
Function: providing propulsion for your robotic project.

The KRC can be powered in 2 ways:

  1. by a 9V bench top power supply, or
  2. by 6 1.2V AA batteries - there is a special battery compartment built into the KRC that can accept these batteries (shown to the right) making the KRC truly modular.
